The summer term is finally upon us and we thoroughly enjoyed a good play on the adventure playground today! Mr Yeates spoke about choices in this morning’s assembly and it was pleasing to see the pre-prep children making good choices and playing beautifully together this afternoon after lunch. A great start to the term!

Measuring Time
We’ve been thinking about time today and were lucky enough to use real stop watches, to measure the time it takes each of us to build a tower of ten blocks. The boys worked together in teams to build, time, count and record their results – super maths!
Happy Birthday Henry!

Pterodactyl Explorers!
This morning was beautifully sunny so after whole school assembly, we put our writing books away, put our wellies on and went exploring. We looked and listened for birds and flying insects at the bird hide and nature zone before imagining we were flying Pterodactyls ourselves! We stretched out our wings and imagined swooping down to catch unsuspecting prey. A great start to the week!
Junk Modelling Day!
The children spent the week working on brilliant designs in preparation for our dinosaur junk modelling day, which was a roaring success! The models look amazing and I was really impressed with the manner in which the children dealt with such a momentous task. The children did a wonderful job in selecting the perfect 3D shape for each part of their dinosaurs. Well done Reception J!

Thanksgiving – Baking Cornbread
This morning we came together as a class to bake cornbread as part of our Thanksgiving topic this week. We discussed the measurements in millilitres and US cups and looked at the instructions really carefully. The children each had a go at mixing and pouring and we were really impressed with their knowledge – we clearly have some expert bakers in Reception J! We can’t wait to try the bread this afternoon!
